Corporate Governance

At MET Zug AG, strong leadership, experience, and a strategic approach to business management form the foundation of our corporate governance structure. Our senior management team brings decades of industry expertise, ensuring the company is managed effectively in the interests of shareholders, employees, and clients.

We operate under a framework that promotes a clear separation of responsibilities among senior leadership and across departments, fostering accountability and transparency. Our Code of Conduct outlines the principles, values, and standards of professional behavior that all MET Zug employees are expected to uphold, emphasizing diligence and integrity in everything we do.

Trading Committee

The Trading Committee at MET Zug AG is central to our decision-making process and risk management practices. Composed of experienced industry professionals and led by our CEO, the committee plays a vital role in evaluating proposed trades and strategic initiatives. Every transaction undergoes a meticulous review, ensuring it meets our high standards for compliance, counterparty due diligence, and market pricing.

This structured approach to trading ensures that MET Zug AG remains competitive while effectively managing risks. The Trading Committee leverages comprehensive data and resources to make informed decisions that align with our long-term goals and objectives.

Risk Management

At MET Zug AG, risk management is embedded in every aspect of our operations. Our governance model places accountability on every member of the company, from senior management to group affiliates. The first layer of oversight is managed by the Trading Committee, which works closely with all departments, including trading, operations, and finance, to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks.

Our Head of Business Development, operating independently from the Trading Committee, ensures continuous reviews of the overall effectiveness of our risk control measures. In addition, quarterly reviews of our business activities and risk strategies are conducted to ensure alignment with internal policies and the changing market environment.

Compliance and Anti-Money Laundering (AML)

Compliance is a top priority at MET Zug AG. We have established a rigorous compliance framework that aligns with both local and international legal and regulatory standards. Each counterparty that MET Zug engages with undergoes a thorough Know Your Customer (KYC) process to ensure they meet our stringent compliance requirements.

For enhanced due diligence, we perform background checks on vessels and counterparties through Lloyd’s of London Intelligence Reports before conducting any business. Our commitment to compliance extends across all our operations, with regular internal policies and training provided to employees.

Our Chief Financial Officer (CFO) brings significant expertise to the compliance arena. With a background as a Registered Representative and Licensed Series 24 Principal for some of the world’s leading banks, our CFO ensures that MET Zug AG’s compliance and AML policies are always up to date. Regular training on AML and compliance matters is enforced across the entire organization, reinforcing our commitment to ethical business practices.
